THE HOUSE THAT GOUGH BUILT

Below is the house we have chosen to build on our block. We have made a couple of changes to the appearance, with the main one being a balcony added on our bedroom. Hopefully if things go to plan we should be living in it by this time next year.

WE NOW OWN A BIT OF AUSTRALIA!!!!

On our second day in Adelaide we went looking at a couple of blocks of land. The first one we saw was large, but had a few things we didn't like about it. The second one we loved and put an offer in there and then. It is 1100 square metres (almost a third of an acre) and it has a fantastic view.
We settle on the land next week, and then it will be all ours, just ready to build on. We want to build a house with a balcony on the front to take advantage of the beautiful view which looks over all of adelaide. We can just see ourselves with a glass of wine watching the sun go down!!!

There is only fields with cows grazing in them behind the block, and there are no plans to build there. We are at the very top of a hill looking down.

Below is our next door neighbours house, and.....

this one below is next but one on the right. The house next door on the right is still being built, with only just a garage done so far. We love both these houses and can't wait to get cracking on our own.

A GREAT CHRISTMAS & NEW YEAR AT MIKE & LISA'S

Christmas Day was very busy with setting out the tables and getting the cooking underway. There was about 20 people for Christmas Day lunch and we all ate outside on the veranda. It was a lovely day.

Of course, Paul had a great birthday too!!!

On New Year's Eve we went to a party and got home about 1 .00 a.m. After getting the kids to bed, us grown-ups went and changed and had a bit of a pool party, drinking wine and playing games in the pool. It was a great laugh and a perfect way to see in the New Year!!

A LONG DRIVE.....

After moving into our house, we set off on our long drive to Adelaide. It was a pretty straight forward drive, with very very very long straight, flat roads with little scenery and a hazy horizon. It really would be very difficult to get it wrong, however, when Steph took her first turn at the wheel she managed to miss a turn and I woke up about five minutes later just in time to see a signpost for Sydney!!!!! Thankfully, we hadn't gone too far out of the way! Typical Dee Dee!! And of course, I am not letting her forget it!!!!!

Anyway, after that small hiccup, the drive went very smoothly, both taking turns and we arrived 14 hours later, very tired.
