This is a quick update from a wintery but sunny Canberra. All is going well and I have finally started my new job after a 5 month wait. Steph and the Boy's are fine and we are all still very much enjoying life down under.
Kieran has taken up Rugby Union and he had his second full game over the weekend. He plays for his local town Queanbeyan Whites and they thrashed their opposition 77 - NIL.
Kieran , in the centre of the photo, is pictured in the white shirt with the red and blue hat on running in to give his team mate a helping shove.
I know Taff will love this, but we are all taking to
the game of "Egg Chasing"
Below you can see the back of Kieran (Number 4 shirt)

KIERAN'S BIRTHDAY
Kieran had a wonderful 11th Birthday. He was really chuffed with his presents and later that day we all went bowling. Kieran took two of his best pals from School and we all had a great time. Kieran would like to say a massive THANKYOU for all the pressies and cards.
A good time had by all.
Ben thought he could be smart and throw some cake at Dad. What a mistake that turned out to be!!
I did, of course, reassure Ben that I would NOT publish these photo's on the web for all his Mates to see....
TELSTRA TOWER
The Telstra Tower sits on top of Black Mountain looking right across Canberra. The tower itself stands 195 meters high and has a revolving restaurant at the top. The views were terrific and so was the food, $360 for a Sunday lunch!!! Next time we will be taking sandwiches. It was a cracking way to spend a Sunday afternoon though and we recommend it to anyone who comes to visit.
In the distance are all the mountains. Canberra is pretty much surrounded by them.
The built up area to the left of the photo below shows the Russell Offices where I will be eventually working and Parliament to the right of the lake.

THE HOUSE THAT GOUGH BUILT
Friday, January 13, 2006
WE NOW OWN A BIT OF AUSTRALIA!!!!
On our second day in Adelaide we went looking at a couple of blocks of land. The first one we saw was large, but had a few things we didn't like about it. The second one we loved and put an offer in there and then. It is 1100 square metres (almost a third of an acre) and it has a fantastic view.
We settle on the land next week, and then it will be all ours, just ready to build on. We want to build a house with a balcony on the front to take advantage of the beautiful view which looks over all of adelaide. We can just see ourselves with a glass of wine watching the sun go down!!!
There is only fields with cows grazing in them behind the block, and there are no plans to build there. We are at the very top of a hill looking down.
Below is our next door neighbours house, and.....
this one below is next but one on the right. The house next door on the right is still being built, with only just a garage done so far. We love both these houses and can't wait to get cracking on our own.
